Do you have solid marine mammal assessment experience and want to apply your skills within a market leading consultancy in offshore wind and other sectors? Are you confident drafting EIA and HRA inputs and advising on offshore development impacts? Are you ready to lead projects while continuing to develop your technical expertise?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Marine Mammal Consultant to join our Marine Mammal team, supporting projects across offshore renewables, ports and harbours, oil & gas and wider coastal infrastructure. In this role, you will contribute to marine mammal consultancy projects from tender through to delivery. You will undertake risk assessments, support underwater noise assessments, and draft high-quality EIAs, HRAs, EPS licence applications and mitigation plans.
Alongside technical delivery, you will manage smaller projects, liaise directly with clients, identify follow-on opportunities, and support more junior colleagues. You will be expected to produce clear, defensible reports to tight time and budget constraints and provide confident advice on marine mammal issues linked to large infrastructure developments.
You will need:
- An established track record in the field of marine mammal science derived from a relevant career in consultancy, research or working for government.
- Knowledge of EIA, HRA and/or EPS risk assessment.
- A good working knowledge of the technical assessments underpinning marine mammal assessments in support of development projects (e.g. underwater noise impacts and assessments, modelling, mitigation and monitoring design etc.).
- Excellent written and oral communication, organisational and time management skills, alongside a professional manner with strong inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
- A degree (preferably MSc) in a marine-focused environmental or ecological subject.
