Are you looking to work for an innovative shipping and navigation business? Do you want to play a part in shaping the future of maritime safety while contributing to the offshore renewables sector? Are you eager to develop your analytical thinking, creativity, and innovative problem‑solving skills? NASH Maritime is looking for a Maritime Consultant to join our team of specialists in shipping, navigation, and maritime risk. Our mission is to help the marine sector create a sustainable, accident‑free environment through innovative, risk‑based solutions.
In this role, you’ll tackle real‑world maritime challenges: analysing vessel traffic data, interpreting shipping trends, and contributing to risk assessments and navigation studies for ports, harbours, major infrastructure projects, and offshore renewables. You’ll collaborate with mariners, harbour masters, and technical specialists, combining data, technology, and practical expertise to deliver forward‑thinking solutions.
We’re looking for someone who thrives on creative problem‑solving, who can explore complex issues, develop innovative approaches, and provide evidence‑based advice that helps clients make confident, informed decisions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone in the early stages of their maritime career to develop expertise across navigation, risk assessment, and consultancy, while making tangible contributions to projects that support the world’s transition to net zero.
To apply for this role, you’ll need:
- A demonstrable interest in the maritime industry (shipping, ports, offshore renewables, seafaring background, or recreational sailing)
- A BSc (Hons) in a numerate subject (STEM or Geography)
- Strong analytical skills and a creative, solutions‑focused mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Computer literacy, including MS Office
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Curiosity, enthusiasm, and a drive to learn
What will help you stand out:
- Experience in the maritime industry
- A Master’s degree or higher
- Skills in data handling, analysis, and coding (e.g., Python)
- Confidence with GIS software (QGIS, ESRI, or similar)
- A track record of innovative thinking or problem‑solving
At NASH Maritime, you’ll join a team that values innovation, integrity, and forward thinking. We foster flexibility, inclusivity, and collaboration ensuring everyone can bring their whole self to work. Join us to help shape the future of maritime risk, create safer seas, and deliver innovative solutions for a sustainable world.
Next steps: We are focused on creating a diverse and inclusive team.
