About The Role

You will be part of the Water Quality team, carrying out field surveys on rivers, streams and other freshwater environments, collecting environmental samples, performing on‑site measurements and supporting data processing.
Projects involve water companies, regulators and the energy sector across the UK.
You’ll work physically, sometimes in remote locations and all weathers, supported by a friendly and experienced team.
We are looking for Aquatic Ecology Surveyors for a fixed‑term assignment of 4‑5 months.
The role is suitable for recent graduates or people with relevant outdoor experience, irrespective of qualifications, provided you can commute to our Stockport hub.
Responsibilities
- Carry out field surveys on rivers, streams and other freshwater sites.
- Collect environmental samples and perform on‑site measurements.
- Support data processing and ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards.
- Work safely in outdoor environments, including swimming.
- Travel to and stay away from home regularly to visit project sites.

- Experience of outdoor activities such as field work, hiking, fishing or boating.
