Are you a passionate Ecologist seeking an exciting opportunity to elevate your career? Do you have some experience post-graduation and looking to contribute to impactful project work? We are actively seeking an Ecologist to join our rapidly growing team and play a pivotal role in expanding our terrestrial ecology services across the South East. By joining our team, you will be working alongside a diverse group of experts in both terrestrial and aquatic sciences. Our projects span the UK and encompass a wide spectrum, including collaborations with environmental and conservation agencies, water and energy industries, and various supporting services. Here, you will not only specialise in terrestrial ecology but also have the chance to collaborate with professionals in fisheries science, hydrology, hydro/geomorphology, and water quality sectors.

As a key member of our team, you will closely collaborate with our Senior and Principal Ecologists, delivering excellent ecological services to our clients. Your role will revolve around conducting terrestrial ecology site work and providing valuable support in the creation of comprehensive reports through data processing, analysis, and interpretation.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in relevant subject, with a strong academic record.
  • Botanical ID skills including experience of UK Hab and condition assessments and/or Phase 1 Habitat surveys.
  • Experience of writing Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and/or protected species survey reports.
  • Experience of conducting protected species surveys (e.g. dormice, bats, GCN, otter, water vole, birds etc.).
  • Sound knowledge and practical application of UK environmental and wildlife legislation.
  • A full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the south and south east (and potentially further afield when required), with some requirement for overnight stays.
