Environmental Enforcement Officer – Hillingdon - Full-Time - 40 hours per week - £23,795.20 per annum

Requirements:

  • Over 18 years old and holding a full clean Driving Licence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Patrolling on foot to enforce bylaws within Hillingdon, conducting inquiries, and taking action as needed.
  • Responding to inquiries and complaints from councillors and the public regarding environmental quality and anti-social behaviour.
  • Issuing Fixed Penalty Notices for violations where appropriate.
  • Recording witness statements and conducting interviews under caution.
  • Validating offender details.
  • Preparing cases for prosecution and working with legal services, including court appearances as a witness.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work and case progression using computer software.
  • Building good relationships with key service areas and agencies, including the Police.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Enforcement work experience.
  • Experience in awareness raising or marketing.
  • Knowledge of environmental services such as waste collection and cleansing.
  • Strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Reliability, self-motivation, and ability to handle challenging situations.
  • Ability to develop and follow policies and procedures.
  • Problem-solving skills for complaints and complex issues.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and cover for colleagues.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and data protection protocols.
