The Role

Collection Driver - Full Time; 42.5 hours per week Monday - Friday - Salary: £32708 per annum PLUS £7 a day mobile allowance*.

Do you have a Full Clean UK Driving Licence? Do you have good communication skills? Do you have experience driving a van?

Locating, collecting, and transporting rogue, abandoned, damaged, or dangerously parked E-bikes from across the borough.

You will operate an APCOA vehicle, responding to reports from the main office, residents, and service providers, and ensure e-bikes are removed safely.

This is a customer-facing role that requires a flexible, proactive, and professional approach.

You will be happy working independently across a large area and representing APCOA in a positive and friendly manner.

What will you do?

  • Patrol the borough and respond to reports of rogue, abandoned, damaged, or obstructively parked e-bikes.
  • Safely load, secure, transport, and unload e-bikes using a designated recovery van.
  • Maintain accurate records of collections, locations, and actions taken using handheld devices or reporting systems.
  • Liaise with council officers, service providers, and contractors to coordinate collections and storage requirements.
  • Carry out daily vehicle inspections and ensure the van is maintained in a clean, safe, and roadworthy condition.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service when engaging with residents, businesses, and visitors.
  • Comply with all health and safety procedures, manual handling requirements, and APCOA policies.

What will you bring?

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience of driving vans in an urban environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence to use mobile technology and complete basic records correctly.
  • Physically capable of loading and unloading e-bikes safely.

*We can offer you £14.80 per hour plus a £7 per day mobile allowance, subject to conditions being met.
