We design, manufacture, and maintain critical equipment for nuclear sites.

At Hinkley Point C, we are responsible for deploying, commissioning, and operating a wide range of lifting systems—including Polar Cranes—originally produced in our Aigle, Switzerland facility.

The Role

You will join our UK Services team to operate vital lifting machinery across the nuclear and conventional islands buildings during construction.

  • Cranes & Equipment you’ll Operate
  • HK Auxiliary Cranes
  • RB Bunker Jib Cranes
  • Jib Cranes
  • HP1 and HP2 Cranes
  • Etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of cranes safely and efficiently following operational procedures (akin to duties found in UK standards for crane roles).
  • Carry out pre-use inspections and daily checks, and complete relevant safety and maintenance documentation if required.
  • Assist with crane maintenance and fault reporting, in line with practices for proactive operation.
  • Support lifting operations.
  • Strictly adhere to nuclear site Quality, Safety, and Security regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Hold a valid crane operator certification/qualification (e. g., CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience operating heavy lifting cranes (such as mobile, overhead, or polar cranes).
  • We value nuclear or heavy‑industry exposure, though UK construction industry experience is also relevant.
  • Strong commitment to health & safety, with an ability to work under regulated environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to diverse operations throughout site phases.

Desirable

Prior experience in nuclear environments or at Hinkley Point C; familiarity with multiple crane types and complex electromechanical systems.
