This is a key role supporting the team on site, as a highly organised and professional front-of-house ambassador ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of reception, administration, and site coordination.

Known across the globe at our Birkenhead facility, on the banks of the River Mersey we expand across 130 acres which includes four dry docks, a large modular construction hall and extensive covered workshops. We’ve played a strategic role in UK shipbuilding for the past 200 years, repairing, maintaining and building ships and other vessels.

What you will do:

  • Reception & Front of House greeting and manage all visitors, ensuring a professional and positive first impression.
  • Coordinate with security to manage site access, visitor logs, and compliance procedures as well as provide refreshments for visitors and meetings.
  • Organise visitor (PPE), ensuring availability and compliance.
  • Provide administrative support to the Managing Director and assist the Senior Leadership Team with coordination tasks.
  • When meeting rooms are needed, organise and maintain them including set-up.
  • Support SLT travel including transport and accommodation.
  • Oversee internal communications such as notices, announcements, and updates.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in a reception, administrative, or office coordination role.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional, approachable, and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with health & safety or industrial environments would be good but we can teach you that.
  • IT and reporting skills as well as the ability to communicate at all levels of the business whether verbal or written.
  • A full UK Driving Licence will be useful due to the size of the facility.

These restrictions mean that factors including your nationality, any previous nationalities you have held, and your place of birth may limit those roles you can perform with us. You must also undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check before your employment starts, which will include a basic DBS check.
