Lead HSE Advisor – Vacancy
Cammell Laird is seeking applications—both internal and external—for a dedicated and proactive Lead HSE Advisor to support NEWAY's operations. This role is responsible for providing expert Health, Safety and Environmental guidance across NEWAY and the wider Cammell Laird business. This is a hands‑on, influential position suited to someone who thrives in a heavy‑industry environment, enjoys leading by example, and is passionate about driving continuous improvement in safety culture.
Purpose of the Role
- Provide clear, proactive HSE leadership using strong engagement, effective communication and practical involvement.
- Combine hands‑on HSE activity with high‑quality administrative, investigative and reporting responsibilities.
- Actively contribute to the wider management team, identifying issues early, proposing solutions, and helping the business meet its operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key member of the Cammell Laird Management Teams, providing specialist expertise in Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
- Advise Supervisors, Department Heads and Managers on HSE risks, supporting them in identifying, assessing and controlling hazards.
- Attend, contribute and present at relevant Safety Committee meetings and management/project reviews.
