Work Schedule: 2 days/week, 8 hours per day (Only Weekdays, cannot choose preferred days to work). Working Hours: 9.30am to 5.30pm. Contract Duration: 6 months.
My client is looking for a proactive and organized Library Assistant (Roving / Part-time) to support their Sit-n-Read initiatives. The role involves managing multiple sites, maintaining book collections, and ensuring smooth operations. This is a roving officer position, which the incumbent is expected to travel across islandwide to multiple Sit-n-Read sites for work deployment.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and maintain multiple Sit-n-Read sites, including regular visits to replenish book collections and maintain site cleanliness.
- Report regularly on site activities and inventory.
- Plan and coordinate inventory for the next replenishment cycle with the Project Manager.
- Organize books for delivery and replenishment from storage/warehouse; receive book deliveries and maintain accurate records.
- Replenish book collections, conduct inventory counts before and after replenishment, and prepare reports.
- Maintain site cleanliness, organize books on shelves, and ensure spaces are tidy.
- Conduct visitorship and browse counts at the Sit-n-Read sites.
- Manage volunteers for sticker-pasting exercises, including recruitment, logistics planning, and supervision.
- Assist with setting up new Sit-n-Read spaces when required.
- Perform basic manual handling, including carrying and moving boxes and equipment.
- Use basic computer functions, including online calls and Excel. A laptop will be provided.
- GCE O Levels and above.
- Comfortable with physical work and manual handling tasks.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites.
