  • Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its engineering function within a precision manufacturing environment serving the Oil & Gas industry.

This role is responsible for driving engineering excellence across product design, technical support, project execution, and continuous improvement while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective products that meet customer requirements.

The successful candidate will provide both strategic leadership and hands‑on technical guidance, working closely with cross‑functional teams including Production, Quality, Sales, and Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Engineering Department, overseeing engineering resources, performance, and departmental KPIs.
  • Drive the design, development, and continuous improvement of products and manufacturing processes to enhance quality, performance, and competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with Management, Production, and Commercial teams to evaluate the technical feasibility, product specifications, manufacturing costs, and customer requirements for new and existing products.
  • Own and maintain product specifications, engineering documentation, and product data management systems.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer specifications before release to production.
  • Serve as the primary engineering interface for customers, supporting technical reviews, project discussions, and product evaluations.
  • Lead customer product evaluation programmers and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Partner with Production and Quality teams to resolve technical issues, conduct feasibility assessments, and support product disposition decisions.
  • Promote operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives, Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management (TQM), and 5S practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies relating to safety, quality, and business ethics.
  • Foster a high‑performance engineering team through coaching, performance management, and continuous development.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of engineering leadership experience within an Oil & Gas equipment manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of product design, manufacturing processes, engineering documentation, and project management.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage engineering activities from concept through production.
  • Experience supporting customer technical reviews and resolving complex engineering and manufacturing challenges.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Quality Management methodologies.
  • Proficient in CAD software such as Solid Works, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/ENGINEER (Creo) or equivalent, with the ability to interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical, commercial, and operational teams.
