Role: To perform independent third-party inspection and expediting activities at vendor, manufacturer and fabrication sites on behalf of global Oil & Gas and Nuclear clients, ensuring equipment and materials comply with contractual specifications, international codes and applicable regulatory requirements. The role supports Apave’s supply chain inspection services by providing competent, professional and impartial inspection services across manufacturing, testing and certification stages.
Responsibilities:
- Perform vendor inspections, witness and hold-point surveillance in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Verify compliance of manufactured equipment with client specifications, drawings, procedures and international standards (ASME, API, ISO, EN etc.).
- Witness manufacturing, welding, NDT, heat treatment, pressure testing and mechanical testing activities.
- Review and validate material certification, traceability and manufacturing records.
- Identify non-conformances and raise clear, accurate inspection findings.
- Liaise with client, vendor and Apave coordination teams to ensure inspection objectives are achieved.
- Prepare and submit timely, accurate daily and weekly inspection reports.
- Maintain professional conduct and impartiality in accordance with ISO 17020 requirements.
- Ensure adherence to site HSE requirements and Apave safety policies.
- Support client approvals and qualification requirements (e.g., Aramco, ADNOC, Nuclear QA programmes).
- Represent Apave professionally at supplier and client sites.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Decisive, assertive, results- and customer-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience functioning as a field Inspector within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Knowledge of client specifications and inspection surveillance points within ITPs.
- Fully conversant with applicable international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO, EN).
- Experience witnessing heat treatment and mechanical testing activities.
- Ability to prepare clear and accurate inspection reports.
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience supporting Nuclear sector manufacturing or QA programmes.
- Knowledge of PED / Pressure Equipment / piping / valves / subsea equipment.
- Experience with major operator or EPC inspection programmes.
- Client approvals (e.g., Aramco, ADNOC, Nuclear vendor programmes).
- Welding Inspector qualification (e.g., CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 or equivalent).
- NDT qualifications (e.g., PCN / ASNT Level II or equivalent).
- Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BEng or equivalent).
