We’re doing exciting things, with our highly specialist team

At Apatura, we develop projects that power clean energy and a thriving digital world - from battery storage to data centres. It’s complex, high-impact work, delivered by a highly capable team who move quickly and care deeply about doing things well.

We’re driven by bold ideas, a strong sense of purpose and a willingness to challenge how things are usually done. With a growing pipeline of projects and ambitious plans to expand the business, this role offers the chance to play a key part in supporting Apatura’s next stage of growth.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Land Surveyor to join the team and support the acquisition, negotiation and delivery of land agreements across Apatura’s growing portfolio of data centre, BESS and grid infrastructure projects. Working closely with the Land Team and key internal stakeholders, you’ll lead complex negotiations, manage strategic land interests and help drive successful project delivery across Scotland.

What you’ll do:

  • Identify and secure strategic land opportunities across Scotland for data centre, BESS and grid infrastructure projects.
  • Lead negotiations for options, leases, servitudes, easements and other land agreements.
  • Manage opportunities from initial landowner engagement through to legal completion.
  • Provide technical and commercial input on complex land transactions and negotiations.
  • Identify and manage land, title, access and stakeholder risks, working closely with internal and external advisers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, agents, legal advisers and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Development, Grid, Legal and Project Management teams to support project delivery.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement within the Land Team.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with governance and approval processes.
  • Represent Apatura at industry events, landowner meetings and professional forums.

What we’re looking for

  • MRICS qualified (or equivalent Chartered Surveyor status) with experience in land acquisition, estate management or rural surveying.
  • Strong track record of negotiating and securing land agreements for development, infrastructure, renewable energy or property projects.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, with the ability to balance opportunity, risk and long-term stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong understanding of Scottish land law, title matters and development due diligence.
  • Established relationships across the Scottish land market, including landowners, agents and professional advisers.
  • Excellent communicator, able to influence and present recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, innovative and proactive, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience leading complex negotiations and coordinating legal, technical and commercial inputs.

What we offer:

  • Private medical care with Bupa (household included)
  • Enhanced pension scheme
  • EV salary sacrifice scheme + cycle-to-work scheme
  • 30 days’ annual leave including Bank Holidays to start, increasing with length of service, plus additional leave over the Christmas period
  • Access to free, confidential counselling and other wellbeing resources through our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Life assurance scheme at 6x salary
