You will be a leader on projects across various sectors including finance, retail, hospitality, health, or sports. Your week may include day-to-day development work, mentoring others, or liaising with non-developers such as design, product owners, or the sales team.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, is essential. Daily activities will involve:
- Meeting with your team to discuss daily tasks, support needs, and how you can assist others.
- Facilitating the refinement of upcoming work with team members, including developers, testers, designers, and product owners.
- Leading sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
In addition to these activities, you will have "on-tools" days where you will deliver tasks that are maintainable and readable, having pioneered the architecture and implementation yourself. Other days may involve coaching and mentoring team members to ensure timely and quality delivery, or collaborating with clients, product owners, and designers to clarify emerging requirements.
When not on a project, you may support the business in acquiring new work through bids, proposals, and estimation.
