Apacor is a 65-person ISO 13485-accredited medical diagnostics manufacturer specialising in injection moulding and assembly of IVD and lab equipment.

As our business grows and we invest in new automation, we’re looking for a hands on Facilities and Equipment Engineer to keep our production and facility equipment running reliably.

The Role

This is a practical, machine-focused role centred on keeping our automation, moulding, and assembly equipment operational.

You’ll respond to breakdowns, carry out planned servicing, drive continuous improvement, and support resolution of equipment-related quality issues.

You’ll also carry out general repairs across the facility.

Some electrical or PLC work may be involved.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to machine breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime.
  • Schedule and carry out planned servicing on automation, moulding, and assembly equipment.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement actions to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Support Quality teams in investigating and resolving equipment-related quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Carry out general repairs across the facility and building services.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation.
  • Support electrical and control system tasks where required; training available.
  • Work in line with health, safety, quality, and compliance requirements at all times.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as requested to meet business needs.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Proven hands-on experience keeping equipment running, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach and the ability to stay calm under pressure during breakdowns.
  • Good record-keeping and communication skills.
  • Electrical and/or PLC experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in a regulated environment such as ISO 13485 or medical devices is an advantage.
