Our client is a UK-wide educational establishment, with an IT team dedicated to delivering top-notch technology services to all of its sites. The team is comprised of highly skilled professionals who are dedicated to helping ensure that faculty staff and students receive the highest levels of service and support.
We are seeking a motivated and talented Field Support Engineer to join our Clients team. As an IT Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring all of the schools sites receive exceptional on-site support and technical expertise. This role requires a combination of technical skills, customer service, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for Windows desktop and server environments.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 (M365) applications and services.
- Perform hardware and software installations, upgrades, and repairs as needed.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues, including LAN and WAN configurations.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their technology needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Document all service requests, resolutions, and hardware/software changes.
- Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software assets.
- Ensure compliance with company and client-specific security and data protection policies.
- Occasional travel to client locations will be required, so a valid driving license is necessary.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an IT Support Engineer or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Windows desktop and server operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and services.
- Solid understanding of networking principles, protocols, and configurations.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver\’s license and the ability to travel to sites as needed (must have own car).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft) are a major plus.
