To lead the Mechatronics department and to ensure the delivery of Mechatronics projects in line with the business goals. To support the Engineering Manager to deliver the vision for the department in accordance with the business strategy. Lead the development & dissemination of skills & knowledge of mechatronics products & new technologies in the team & across the business.
The Role:
- Mechatronics resource planning, creation / adherence to timing plans, application engineering, customer technical liaison & project management activities.
- To define technical specifications, identify appropriate test requirements & ensure where possible design targets are achieved in accordance with DVP&R.
- Oversee calculations to ensure products will perform safely within the defined operating limits and meet the performance and dimensional envelope requirements.
- To follow specific ISO16750 product requirements & ISO26262 process requirements where applicable.
- To attend meetings (on-site, off-site and abroad) with suppliers and customers as necessary.
- Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the business.
- Team leadership and communication skills.
- Project management from initial concept to production.
- Knowledge of key mechatronics design principles, such as motor selection, gearing and sensors.
- Knowledge of embedded systems development and control electronics.
- Detailed understanding of typical Mechatronics project requirements, such as mechanical design requirements, electrical hardware specifications and software development.

- Proven Electronic engineering experience.

- Experience of mentoring or managing team members.
