A&P Falmouth's facility is one of the largest ship-repair complexes in the UK. We are looking for Electricians to join our team. As an essential part of our operations, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems aboard various vessels as well as within our facility.

So, what will you do?

  • Install, maintain and report electrical systems on marine vessels and within our facility.
  • Conduct inspections, diagnose electrical issues and implement solutions to ensure the safety and functionality of electrical systems on vessels and within our facility.
  • Interpret electrical diagrams and technical specifications to plan and implement electrical installations and repairs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers and other tradespeople to coordinate electrical work and ensure the timely completion of projects.
  • Demonstrate excellent commitment to and knowledge of health and safety.

And what are we looking for?

  • Completion of recognised apprenticeship or vocational training in Electrical Engineering (e.g. NVQ level 3) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in shipyard environments and/or on marine vessels would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems including wiring, lighting, communication systems, navigation equipment and power generation systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions.
