A single family office is seeking a finance manager to join its team in its London offices to assist the principal and the family with managing, monitoring and reporting on their investments in private equity, venture capital and listed securities. The Finance Manager will primarily be supporting the Principal and family on their investment portfolio (3-4 days a week), while also helping on tax coordination, preparing financial statements, and administering an office of 7 people.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and track investment portfolios using the Addepar portfolio software and custodian reports;
- Collaborate with in-house investment analysts to build and maintain Excel-based models of investment portfolios (private and public securities);
- Help analyse and close investments;
- Investigate and reconcile any data discrepancies or valuation differences.
Personal tax information
- Work with the Principal and family to gather and prepare information required by US and UK tax advisors for annual returns;
- Organise supporting documents (statements, schedules, investment summaries) for annual tax returns;
- Maintain a clear and accurate archive of tax-related correspondence and filings.
UK Charitable Trust and UK Limited Company
- Prepare annual financial statements, liaising with external accountants and tax advisors;
- Manage accounting ledger (Sage Accounting software), invoices, payroll, and workplace pension scheme;
- Administer the office: coordinating with service providers such as IT, and maintaining office supplies and equipment.
Skills, Qualifications and attributes
- CFA qualified or part qualified with desire to complete qualification; ACA/ ACCA qualifications are also an advantage;
- Strong administrative background, with exposure to finance or accounting workflows. Accounting qualifications a plus;
- Solid Excel proficiency; familiarity with bookkeeping or accounting systems beneficial;
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational discipline;
- Clear, professional communication style;
- Reliable and diligent;
- Proactive and steady, able to manage recurring tasks independently.
Compensation and benefits
Compensation will be competitive. Benefits include Private healthcare, 5% matched private pension contribution, and 25 days annual leave. The role will be office-based Monday-Thursday with WFH Fridays.
