What Youll Do
This is a key role ensuring successful delivery of all financial reporting and preparation of statutory accounts for the charity and its subsidiaries which will involve;
- Embed the organisational values of Respect, Honesty, Responsibility and Achieving Excellence in everything you do
- Manage and develop two assistant accountants
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls
- Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and maintain the group\’s consolidated financial statements
- Produce the quarterly VAT returns and provide an internal source of VAT expertise
- Review the balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Support the annual audit and financial year-end process including preparation of disclosure notes and supporting schedules
- Ensure compliance with charity accounting legislation, general accounting legislation and applicable company and charity law
- Commitment to ensuring a responsive and genuine engagement with internal and external stakeholders
- Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
- Collaborate with the wider finance team to help in its day-to-day running of the finance function
- Participate in financial and financial systems projects as appropriate
What Were Looking For
- Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) with 3 years+ PQE
- Strong technical background
- Experience managing a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong numerical and Excel skills
- NetSuite or similar ERP system experience
- Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and statutory accounts preparation
- Experience in a similar role in a charity or social care organisation
- Able to appreciate the need for confidentiality and discretion
