Do you want to work for a global market leader where you will manage your own exciting and varied portfolio of clients? Aon are currently recruiting a Senior DC Pensions Consultant to join their DC Consulting Team. This role is suitable for someone with experience advising DC Retail schemes who holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning qualification, and is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from one of our UK offices.

The UK DC pensions landscape is evolving at a rapid pace. Economic challenges, legislative change, an ageing population, and asset volatility pose a wide variety of risks and challenges to DC pension schemes. Scheme sponsors are faced with a range of decisions on difficult topics from managing risk, effective governance and scheme design, to improving member engagement, and selecting an appropriate investment strategy for their DC plan.

What the day will look like:

  • Advising a portfolio of clients and collaborating with colleagues to deliver a range of DC consulting services, with client interaction and client lead roles strongly encouraged and supported.
  • Leads a portfolio of advisory clients, ensuring high standards of delivery.
  • Develops and maintains strong client relationships, understanding their strategic needs.
  • Provides strategic advice on DC pension scheme design, management, and compliance.
  • Mentors and develops junior team members, contributing to their professional growth. Shares knowledge across the wider team.
  • Identifies opportunities to expand client services and business development.
  • Attends client meetings and leads delivery of advice.
  • Leads and supports new business activities including oversight of tender submissions and pitches.
  • Prospects new clients and maintains a strong internal and external network.
  • Recognised as a leader, either as a lead consultant on smaller clients, a subject matter specialist or leading a team.
  • Has an impact beyond their direct team, such as with a specialist team or as a people manager or contributing to new business.
  • Acts as an invoice reviewer/approver.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • Holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning qualification.
  • Expert knowledge of DC pension schemes and relevant regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

  • 5-8+ years of experience in DC pensions consulting.
