Aon is seeking an experienced and globally savvy Senior Bid Manager to lead Global Benefits opportunities for multinational clients. This is an excellent opportunity that offers a diverse range of RFPs and exposure to teams within multiple regions. This role is ideal for someone who excels at weaving together strategic storytelling and global customer collaboration. You’ll coordinate sophisticated RFP responses for multinational clients, drawing on your understanding of global broking and cross-cultural communication.
As a Senior Bid Manager, you will work alongside the Global Benefits CCOs, consultants, product specialists and service teams to support growth strategies. You will collaborate with Aon colleagues to win mid to large, opportunities and will achieve this by working on key, strategic bids by driving and shaping our response in collaboration with the business.
This role will be this virtual, home-based with quarterly travel to either London, Bristol or Leeds.

What the day will look like
Working within a lively, focused and collaborative team your key tasks will include:
- Fully owning all aspects of the bid process
- Balancing multiple bids and ensuring their timely delivery
- Ensuring win themes are developed that meet client’s objectives
- Sourcing information from the business, understanding and articulating value, working closely with Bid Designers to develop visual concept and messaging for RFPs and client pitches.
- Rewriting content for readability, consistency, clarity and brand compliance utilising standard tools and processes.
- Ensuring the end-to-end review of the bid response prior to submission including conducting own review, handling peer reviews and facilitating overall quality control.
- Responsibility for post-bid reviews to include reviewing content with partners/SMEs to bring together updates to content and updating the content library, Loopio.
- Following Aon policies and all relevant legislation.
The role will also include developing strong relationships with the Global Benefits COOs, account teams, SMEs, partners and bid managers within other regions. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Updating content via the content library/Sharepoint sites, preparation/maintenance of stakeholder self-service RFP materials.
- Updating own technical knowledge of products and services.
- Ensuring the ongoing maintenance of accurate bid content to include updates via post-bid reviews, ability to identify gaps in content, maintaining statistics such as colleague headcounts, biographies, etc.
- Ensuring all bid managers are kept appraised of any changes to the products and services provided by Global Benefits.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- APMP CF or Practitioner qualified is preferred but not essential
- Minimum 8-10 years professional work experience in bid management required, Global Benefits solutions proven experience preferred but not essential
- Significant background in the development of proposal responses; strong editing skills required
- Ability to handle multiple sophisticated bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, meeting all deadlines
- Confidence to challenge peers
- Attention to detail, ability to work to timescales, results driven
- Experience providing strategic direction to account teams
- Ability to learn quickly and show flexibility to adapt in a growing group, working both independently and with a team mentality
- Use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
- Advanced knowledge of proposal management software (SharePoint, Loopio, Monday.com etc.) strongly preferred
- Advanced Word and PowerPoint and knowledge required
