What the day will look like
The role’s primary responsibility is to take ownership of a number of Middle Office tasks and support the Middle Office Manager to deliver that team’s business requirements. Specific tasks include, but will not be limited to:
- Develop and manage relationships with external service providers, including underlying managers and custodians.
- Processing and oversight of the daily trade order management, including processing, settlements, record keeping, post trade audit settlement and query management.
- Oversight of the current and projected cash balances, including currency hedges.
- Perform daily reconciliations of portfolio cash and security holdings.
- Oversight of client and fund transaction analysis.
- Ensure that regulatory requirements are met, including management of the submission of any periodic reporting.
- Work with project teams to support and implement re-engineered and integrated business processes and infrastructure to meet the needs of internal clients. In the immediate future this will involve onboarding new custodians and clients.
- Input to on-going departmental initiatives
- Actively resolve ad-hoc requests

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain working relationships with both internal and external clients. You must be proactive and comfortable working in a highly demanding environment. Knowledge and experience of fund trading and settlement processes along with past exposure to Bloomberg is desirable.
- Experience working directly with various internal and external stakeholders (custodians, fund accountants, sub-managers. In addition, knowledge of all major asset classes and investment structures such as Fund of Funds/Multi Manager platforms. This is likely to have come from several years’ experience in an asset management business.
- Excellent numerical ability and analytical skills. In addition, a high attention to detail, accuracy and ability to multi-task is crucial. Strong computer skills, including advanced Excel and Word plus a demonstrable ability to work with, and manipulate, large data sets.
- Ability to independently manage projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and quantitative ability along with superior written and verbal communication skills.
