About the Role
Serve as a senior actuarial and analytics leader, advising clients on health risk financing and reinsurance strategy while driving growth, innovation, and complex client engagements. This role blends deep health actuarial expertise, reinsurance strategy, and senior client leadership to drive growth, profitability, and innovation within a health-focused risk and reinsurance platform. The Actuarial Managing Director serves as a trusted advisor to risk-taking organizations and is responsible for advancing analytics capabilities, shaping health risk financing strategies, and leading complex client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic actuarial and analytics support for complex client relationships across insurers, reinsurers, and health systems
- Advise on health risk financing and reinsurance structures, translating data into clear business recommendations
- Oversee advanced actuarial analyses (pricing, trends, risk modeling) and ensure high-quality deliverables
- Drive growth and business development, contributing to pipeline and client expansion
- Leverage advanced analytics and AI tools to enhance insights and improve efficiency
- Mentor teams and collaborate across functions to deliver integrated solutions
Qualifications
- 8+ years of health actuarial, reinsurance, or healthcare risk experience
- Strong expertise in reinsurance, risk financing, and healthcare cost drivers
- Proven client leadership and ability to deliver complex, strategic insights
- Strong business acumen and track record supporting growth
- Advanced analytical skills (Excel required; R/Python preferred)
- Strong communication skills with executive presence
- FSA preferred (ASA considered with experience)
For positions in San Francisco and Los Angeles, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction record in accordance with local Fair Chance ordinances.
Pay Transparency Laws: The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $200,000-$275,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
