Finance Operations Manager

Based in London, this hybrid role gives you the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Chelmsford office. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll lead on forecasting, budgeting and reporting activities that help shape strategy and support business growth!

What the day will look like
Budget preparation
Discuss with Brokers/AEs each account to ascertain expected brokerage for each client
Produce High Line Walk to budget with details of wins/losses/rate changes/PDs etc with phasing
Forecasting
Liaise with Brokers/AEs for expected brokerage as the year progresses on renewals to come, noting losses and jeopardy items plus ups and downs or extensions/ inception changes
Keep scheduled records up to date with the expected forecast for all type of transactions including revenue shares, PDs etc ensuring plus ones updated to facilitate easier budgeting the following year
Decide how much of the sales pipeline to include in monthly forecasts
Discuss movement and trends in the forecasts with Finance Partners
Ensure Manual invoices (eg Remetrica costs) are tracked and included in any forecasting
Discuss with other UK based teams impacts to their forecast by revenue sharing to come
Assist in raising accruals where necessary to ensure correct brokerage rev rec position allowing for PDs and un-processed revenue.
Reporting
Complete Monthly forecasts and ad hoc updates Finance and Senior Management
Complete Walks both forward and backwards to prior year and budget as required (quarterly) categorising changes in brokerage to last year and as budgeted including wins/losses/market impact/fees/PDs etc
Prepare and update Risks and Opportunities for discussion with the business and Finance partners to ascertain what could potentially impact forecasts submitted
Report Wins/Losses/Jeopardy to Finance on a monthly basis

Miscellaneous
Respond to requests from for information on statistics both locally and globally
Rebate monitoring and invoicing, responsible for liaising with clients or internal personnel regarding PDs from info gathering to settlement
Assist in Ceded Premium reporting quarterly
Assist in Audit requests relating to revenue

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Insurance experience preferred
Experience of managing small team advantage, especially offshore
Enjoys working with numbers
Confident to approach colleagues at all levels
Happy to work on their own as well as part of a small team
IBA experience considered as that is a good background
Competent IT Skills including all Microsoft Package (Excel Specifically)
