Aon is currently recruiting a Risk & Compliance Business Partner to join our team in London / Hybrid working. The role will primarily support the senior members of the Risk & Compliance Business Partner Team (e.g. Director and Senior Partner) by providing advice, oversight, and challenge on risk, compliance, and governance matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Involvement in the development of new products (e.g. 2nd line product oversight using OneView or other applicable tools), business and/or operating models, functional processes, and facilitating periodic risk assessments undertaken by Solution Lines/Business Areas in line with the broader Enterprise Risk Management framework.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for any risk, compliance or governance queries.
  • Support senior members of Solution Lines/Business Areas (e.g. GBC, CRUK) in advising, overseeing, and challenging on issues and risks, including new product development, business models, and functional processes.
  • Facilitate periodic risk assessments undertaken by Solution Lines/Business Areas, aligned with the Enterprise Risk Management framework.
  • Liaise with other risk and compliance areas and act as the facilitator between these and the business to ensure the business has access to the right second line resources.
  • Build enduring relationships with key business stakeholders and promote a risk & compliance aware culture.
  • Build awareness of key regulatory changes across the Risk & Compliance team and support impacted areas through design and implementation.
  • Support and contribute to the Business Partner Team strategy and wider Risk & Compliance initiatives.
  • Operate in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in mandatory training to mitigate adverse risks to the business, interests, or reputation of any Group Company.

About you

Your knowledge and expertise:

  • General awareness of the international sanctions landscape.
  • General awareness of international (re)insurance licensing requirements or overseas regulation criteria.
  • Dynamic and proactive personality, bringing energy and enthusiasm to learn and enjoy the many aspects of the role – primarily as a business partner to the 1st line.
  • Confidence and credibility to work collaboratively with the organisation’s most senior management and directors.
  • Able to demonstrate commercial awareness, general business acumen, and basic strategic planning.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and engage key stakeholders, take positive action on assigned tasks or objectives in an effective and diplomatic manner, mindful of the needs of the RCBP team led by the Director.
  • Early to mid-career experience working with an international re/insurance intermediary, its business and processes; or recent experience working in ‘digitalisation change’ projects, such as using common AI applications to improve the distribution of financial services or insurance products.
