Aon (Bermuda) Ltd. provides clients with specialist insurance broking, reinsurance expertise and consultancy services. We are seeking to employ a Broker at the Assistant Vice President or Vice President level for the Property team in our Insurance Brokerage Division.
What the day will look like:
- Serve as a senior broker with proven peer, market and client relationships.
- Produce, retain and grow a book of North American and International Fortune 1000 Property Insurance Business.
- Work effectively with decision makers at client and insurance carrier level with a proven track record.
- Develop and nurture market and internal producer relationships with proven business and social skills.
- Establish/maintain credibility using excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients, senior underwriters and executives overseas.
- Analyze, create and present underwriting data to the marketplace.
- Negotiate coverage terms and conditions based on a detailed understanding of clients’ exposures, risks, and needs.
- Ensure consistent professional service in full compliance of Aon processes and procedures.
- Mentor and develop junior brokers, actively imparting technical knowledge and market insight.
- Undertake business travel and frequent client entertainment outside of normal business hours.
- Perform other similar duties as identified by senior management.
Required skills and experience that will lead to success:
- University degree in a business-related field.
- Minimum of 7 (AVP) / 10 (VP) years of recent relevant insurance broking experience within the Property Insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of finance/accounting and general business terms.
- Proven experience in working with North American retail brokers and clients.
- Experience servicing Fortune 1000 and broader North American clients and their equivalent internationally.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing risk strategies, marketing and servicing of global risk management programs within the global Property marketplace.
- Experience leading client and market meetings.
- Broad Property experience in General Property, Energy, Construction, and Facilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of risk and exposure analysis including Catastrophic Modeling, MFL, PML, and Loss Expectancies, further with the ability to explain clearly to underwriters and clients.
- High level technical proficiency in understanding insurance policy and contract language.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs.
