What the day will look like
- Financial Reporting & Close
- Oversee the monthly close process — managing billings, journal entries, and expense variance analysis at the regional and office level.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date revenue and expense forecasts at the office level across all financial systems.
- Develop and deliver actionable performance narratives in coordination with US Regional Finance teams to ensure forecast alignment and clear communication of results.
- Business Partnership & Strategic Support
- Partner closely with regional leaders to articulate key finance KPIs, identify performance gaps, and align initiatives with overall C&I priorities.
- Challenge and support regional leaders in addressing budget shortfalls — analyzing revenue performance by product, industry, and market segment, identifying commission lift opportunities, and clearly articulating fee income across solutions.
- Develop deep fluency in Aon’s key products, deal lifecycles, and market dynamics to pressure-test forecast assumptions and empower business leaders to act on opportunities and address risks.
- Process Improvement & Execution
- Proactively identify gaps and inefficiencies in existing reporting processes — then own the design and implementation of improvements.
- Execute time-sensitive, cross-functional requests with accuracy and a strong sense of ownership.
- Drive transformation initiatives with rigor and follow-through, from planning through execution.
How this opportunity is different
This role is ideal for a finance professional who is equally comfortable in the weeds of a monthly close and in the boardroom presenting to senior leadership. You are intellectually curious, relationship-driven, and energized by the challenge of turning ambiguous data into clear direction. You don’t wait to be told what needs fixing — you find it, build the solution, and bring others along with you.
Success looks like:
- Positive, measurable impact on C&I group growth and profitability.
- Senior leadership receives reporting that is clear, actionable, and decision-ready.
- Transformation initiatives are executed on time and with lasting impact.
- Regional leaders view you as a trusted finance partner — not just a reporter of numbers.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- 6+ years in financial strategy, FP&A, business unit finance, or a related function.
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
- Proven track record of driving strategic initiatives — identifying opportunities, building relationships, and delivering change through focused execution.
- Experience in corporate planning, business unit finance, strategy, and operations strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for senior and executive audiences.
- Experience creating Board of Directors and executive-level materials.
- Excellent project management skills — able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Collaborative by nature with the ability to build trust and influence across all levels of the organization.
- Self-starter who anticipates needs, stays ahead of issues, and takes full ownership of their work.
- Inquisitive mindset — stays current on industry trends and continuously looks for better ways to work.
