The predicted salary is between 60000 - 75000 € per year.
Within this role you would provide operational day to day management to one of the ACT Underwriting teams. You would be leading the team to meet business as usual targets; meet underwriting and data standards necessary to comply with the delegated underwriting agreement and to create a strong culture with high levels of employee engagement.
What the day will look like
- Resource management
- Responsible for ensuring that there is adequate resource in place to handle renewals, new business and endorsements coming into the ACT team in a timely and correct manner.
- Manage own caseload of risks within a timely and correct manner – reviewing new submissions; referring when appropriate; in‑scoping; binding and completing all the necessary administration.
- Managing holiday and absence for the Underwriting team.
- Governance
- Ensuring that all Underwriting and in‑scoping activities are completed in line with the delegated underwriting agreement and associated documents.
- Ensure data accuracy through team training and controls.
- With the support of the ACT Leadership team implement governance changes and audit findings.
- Conduct peer review; identifying and implementing training needs.
- Implement the output of control reporting to ensure data accuracy.
- People
- Supported by the ACT leadership team to provide onboarding training to new joiners and ongoing technical training to all Underwriters.
- To ensure that Personal Development plans are in place for all Underwriters and these are managed through regular 1‑2‑1s and team sessions.
- Recruitment (supported by the ACT Leadership team).
- To create an inclusive, positive and energetic culture within the team that leads to high employee engagement.
- Commercials
- With the support of the ACT management team ensuring that the Underwriting team meet their monthly and annual premium budgets and can demonstrate this through prompt entry of data.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Multi Class underwriting in the Lloyd’s market.
- People leadership and/or training and development experience.
- Delivering in a high pressure environment.
