The hiring team is based in Prague but the job can be performed from Vienna, Warsaw, Prague, or Bratislava.
What the day will look like
You will be working with our client teams and colleagues from Prague and from different offices in Europe to deliver catastrophe modelling and analytical support to our clients and the reinsurance market. The main tasks include:
- Running natural catastrophe models to quantify the likelihood and severity of natural catastrophes for property portfolios of insurance companies.
- Communication about technical solutions in a digestible manner with both clients and colleagues from the broking team.
- Collaboration with R&D teams on testing and evaluation of catastrophe models.
- Contributing to research and development of ideas to improve the existing models and tools.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Finished university studies.
- Previous experience in Catastrophe modelling (ideally at least 3 years).
- Knowledge of the most frequently used catastrophe models – Moody’s RMS, Verisk, CoreLogic.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access and QS.
- Knowledge of a scripting or programming language (e.g. Python or R) may come handy.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Capability to work in a team, independently and ability to prioritise work effectively.
- Flexibility and self-motivation, positive approach to work.
