Aon Insurance Managers is seeking an experienced Business Development professional to join the team! This role sits at the heart of Aon’s EMEA captives’ growth agenda. You will have a unique vantage point across clients, markets and internal team members. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and within one of our Captive locations across EMEA.

What the day will look like

  • You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting growth for Aon Insurance Managers (ACIM) captive solutions across EMEA, working closely with ACIM, Aon Group Risk Consulting (AGRC) and local Aon teams.
  • Your day will be varied and fast‑paced, combining client engagement, opportunity development and pipeline management.

Key activities

  • Support the EMEA Captives business development lead in driving growth for ACIM’s captive solutions.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for initial captive‑related discussions, advancing opportunities as they progress.
  • Analyse existing clients and prospects to identify and qualify new captive opportunities.
  • Engage with clients to explain captive fundamentals, assess suitability, and support captive feasibility work with AGRC.
  • Prepare and deliver tailored client presentations and materials showcasing ACIM’s captive capabilities and value proposition.
  • Manage the full opportunity lifecycle: logging leads, coordinating follow‑ups, tracking progress, and documenting outcomes and findings.
  • Develop and optimise distribution channels across EMEA, mapping priority relationships and supporting engagement activities.
  • Build strong knowledge of ACIM’s EMEA solutions to help refine and communicate a clear value proposition.
  • Tailor standard materials (presentations, one‑pagers, proposals) for specific sectors, geographies and buying centres.
  • Support continuous pipeline development by tracking and monitoring activity and conversion metrics, and coordinating regular pipeline reviews, reporting and actions.
  • Support marketing, awareness and thought‑leadership initiatives, including campaigns, events, materials, and content creation.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Experience in the captives or broader alternative risk/insurance and Reinsurance market (for example, captives management, consulting, brokerage, risk management or an equivalent role) is needed.
  • Strong business development experience is needed.
  • Strong relationship‑management skills with experience presenting to clients and stakeholders.
  • A commercially driven mentality, with an eagerness to win business and contribute to growth targets.
  • A collaborative, team‑oriented approach with a genuine eagerness for progression and continuous learning.
