Aon has an exciting opportunity for a Broker to join our Financial Institutions team, which forms part of our Global Broking Centre. This role will suit an individual with some existing Financial Lines or Financial Institutions experience (or strong transferable insurance experience) who is looking to develop their career by supporting senior brokers and taking on increased responsibility over time.
The role is primarily focused on assisting with the placement of Financial Lines insurances for US and Canadian financial institutions, including firms operating in the digital assets / Web3 sector. You will work closely with experienced brokers, learning how to coordinate, support and contribute to the marketing and negotiation of Financial Institutions business within the Lloyd’s and Company Markets on a day-to-day basis, in line with our marketing strategy. This is a Hybrid role that will involve some office and home-based working.
What the day will look like:
- Reviewing submissions and assisting with data gathering and preparation
- Supporting negotiations with insurers (both lead and follow markets)
- Helping to prepare and present terms to clients and our network partners
- Assisting with firm order broking via PPL and email
- Accurately recording broking activity in market sheets and internal systems
- Reviewing draft and final MRCs with support from senior team members
- Preparing and sending cover confirmations to clients and network offices
- Assisting with benchmarking analyses and placement advice prepared for clients
- Supporting the organisation and follow‑up from client and insurer meetings
- Responding to routine accounting and claims (A/C) queries and escalating more complex issues as needed
- Helping to establish and maintain a pipeline of opportunities for the senior brokers and wider team
- Working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and complying with Aon UK Limited policies, including participating in required training and risk management activities that may affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience gained within the insurance industry at either a Broker or Insurer.
- Minimum of 18m technical Insurance knowledge, ideally with a Financial Lines background.
- Sound understanding of London insurance market dynamics and core processes.
- Ability to use insurance industry IT systems to efficiently deliver client service.
- Experience of managing effective client relationships.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Good understanding of compliance and FCA regulation.
- Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a collaborative team.
