Aon is looking for a Senior Investment Consulting Associate to join our pioneering team in Montreal! This is a hybrid position that offers the opportunity to work both virtually and from our Montreal office. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

What the day will look like
Our focus is on making valuable contributions to our clients’ investment programs through the development and application of innovative world‑class solutions, backed by our experience and the resources of Aon nationally and globally. As a crucial team member of a local team, and a large national team, you will service existing clients and prospects with specialized institutional investment consulting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review performance monitoring reports for institutional clients.
- Prepare presentations on investment topics (e.g. investment fundamentals, manager selection, manager structure and asset classes).
- Write commentary, conclusions and recommendations in investment reports.
- Conduct searches for investment managers or DC service providers.
- Review and amend governance documents (e.g. statement of investment policies and procedures, and terms of reference).
- Demonstrate research and analytical skills, apply knowledge to our clients’ long‑range investment strategies and build upon expertise in institutional investing.
- Presenting investment topics and performance reviews at client and internal team meetings.
- Support associates and consultants in all aspects of work.
- Keeping up to date about current financial events and news.
- Participating in internal seminars regarding current industry issues and technical training.

As a Senior Investment Consulting Associate, you will report directly to the Team Leader and support the local Investment Management Consulting team in servicing existing and prospective clients specializing in institutional investment consulting, including clients with defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans. Our goal is to add new value to our clients' investment programs through the development and application of innovative, world‑class solutions, supported by our experience and Aon's national and global resources. Your work will have a positive impact on large investment pools and broad collaborator groups. In addition to working with our large and diverse client base, you will meet and collaborate closely with top investment managers in Canada and around the world.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience, experience in a financial/investment consulting, insurance, economics, capital markets pension environment working in an analyst capacity is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field.
- Commitment to professional development and improvement.
- Working towards completion of or interest in completing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program is recommended.
- Bilingualism French/English is required due to frequent interactions with customers, colleagues or collaborators based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or abroad.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, customer‑service and team‑oriented individual.
- General knowledge of the institutional investment industry, understanding of investment concepts and the financial markets.
- Highly organized and results‑oriented individual, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven problem‑solving skills, ability to make decisions and develop solutions.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and establish relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and clients.
- Ability to multi‑task, work under tight deadlines, and adaptable to changing business needs.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
