What we offer
Join Aon on a 12-month Investment Consulting placement and become a valued member of our elite team of specialists. You will be enrolled onto our award-winning development programme with on-the-job learning, centralised learning, and feedback to support your growth. The role provides exposure to investment consulting across both Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) client groups.
Your role
- Join us as an investment consulting graduate in either our DB Client Group or DC Client Group, advising clients on investment strategies, selection of investment managers, corporate transactions and transfers.
- Provide investment consulting services and coverage of markets and strategic considerations for both DB and DC clients; manage assets and liabilities where applicable.
What the day will look like
- You’ll be a key member of dedicated teams, supporting global clients with investment consulting advice.
- In the DB Group, you’ll learn how pension scheme liabilities change with economic assumptions and market movements.
- In the DC Group, you’ll learn about DC pension vehicles, regulatory rules, main asset classes and investment theory relevant to DC schemes.
- Work with diverse mentors and network to support your development.

Your development
During the Industrial Placement Programme you will participate in a range of training and development activities, including:
- Business learning: on-the-job experiences to develop knowledge of your team and solution line
- Centralised learning: induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops
- Feedback: goal-setting with your line manager and ongoing support throughout the 12 months
Your career beyond the Industrial Placement
The placement can lead to a place on our graduate programme in the same business unit. You may also access our Launch development programme and professional qualifications support.
Requirements and locations
- Entry requirements: On track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in any subject
- Right to work in the UK for duration of employment; evidence required during the application process for temporary and permanent roles
- Locations: Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, London, Edinburgh or Glasgow
Application process
- We process applications on a rolling basis; not all applicants will be invited to every stage.
- Stages may include online assessment, video interview and in-person assessment centre; invitations depend on candidate fit and timing.
- We reimburse reasonable travel costs for assessment centres; flights/hotels are covered if agreed in advance.
