What you will do

Your role as an Actuarial Graduate in Wealth Solutions: Retirement involves working on a range of client teams providing advice to trustees or sponsoring employers. You will develop technical and consulting skills, progress toward actuarial qualifications, and work to become a trusted advisor for clients.

What your day could look like includes Actuarial and Analytical Tasks, and Client Focused Tasks. Examples include:

  • Regular assessment of the financial position of pension schemes
  • Identifying and implementing ways to reduce risks (longevity, investment, inflation) for trustees and companies
  • Carrying out pension scheme calculations for the company’s financial accounts and for individual members’ benefits
  • Estimating Pension Protection Fund levies
  • Day-to-day management of the pension scheme and internal projects
  • Building and managing relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Attending and presenting at client meetings

You may work on a range of projects and can be involved in specialist teams such as:

  • Risk Settlement
  • Member Options
  • Analysis of mortality and other demographic factors (Demographic Horizons team)

Your Development and Qualifications

You will be enrolled on Aon’s Launch Programme with three core elements: business learning, centralised learning, and professional qualifications. You will be expected to complete a professional qualification as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, with paid study leave and study materials provided.

Entry Requirements

  • On track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in maths, actuarial science or a highly numerical field
  • A-grade or above in Maths at A-level (or equivalent)
  • Practical skills in Python, SQL, VBA, or cloud platforms

Our Wealth Solutions: Pensions teams are based across the UK. Locations include Birmingham, Bristol, Epsom (Surrey), Farnborough (Hampshire), Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, London, Manchester, and St Albans (Hertfordshire). All locations offer the same opportunities for learning and career progression.

We support new graduates with an office-based start for the first 6 months to support learning and progression, followed by flexible work arrangements (3–4 days in the office or with clients).
