Your role

Actuarial Consulting Pensions – Graduate Programme 2026 – Regional Locations. If you wish to be considered for a role based inside London, please apply for the London-only role.

What you will do

As an actuarial graduate, you will work on a range of client teams with colleagues who provide advice and support to trustees handling the pension scheme, or to the company that provides it. We aim for you to progress into a trusted advisor for your clients as soon as possible. You will develop technical and consulting skills, including key calculations, communication, project management and networking, to grow into a successful actuarial consultant.

Your day may include actuarial and analytical tasks such as:

  • Regular assessment of the financial position of pension schemes
  • Identifying and implementing ways for trustees and companies to reduce risks (longevity, investment, inflation)
  • Carrying out calculations for the pension scheme in the company’s financial accounts and for individual members’ benefits
  • Estimating Pension Protection Fund levies

Client-focused tasks include:

  • Day-to-day management of the pension scheme and internal projects
  • Building and managing relationships with clients and other stakeholders
  • Attending and presenting at client meetings

You will have opportunities to work on a range of projects and may join specialist teams in areas such as:

  • Risk Settlement – advising on reducing risk via third-party transfer
  • Member Options – helping clients reshape benefits to suit individuals
  • Demographic analysis (mortality and other factors) with Aon’s Demographic Horizons team

Development and qualifications

As an Aon Graduate, you will be enrolled on our Launch Programme built around three core elements: business learning, centralised learning, and professional qualifications. You will be expected to complete a professional qualification as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, with paid study leave and study materials provided.

You will receive ongoing support to grow your actuarial qualifications and professional development, with regular feedback and opportunities for progression beyond the Graduate Programme (e.g., to Associate Consultant and beyond).

Locations

Wealth Solutions: Pensions teams are based across the UK. Locations include Birmingham, Bristol, Epsom, Farnborough, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, London, Manchester, and St Albans. If you wish to be considered for a role inside London, apply for the London-only programme.

Initial learning period: first 6 months in-office to support your learning, development and progression, followed by a mix of office and client-site work.

What we look for

Entry requirements and capabilities include:

  • A 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in maths, actuarial science, or other numerical subject
  • A-grade or above in Maths A-level (or Scottish Higher/international equivalent)
  • Basic practical skills in Python, SQL, VBA, or cloud platforms
