Commercial Risk
Commercial Risk Solutions offers risk advisory, risk transfer and structured solutions that help organisations and individuals better identify, quantify and manage their risk exposure.
Our Commercial Risk teams are responsible for helping clients protect their business in a world increasingly exposed to new risks, whether that’s extreme weather events or the emergence of AI. Aon aims to provide a tailored approach to risk transfer as well as extensive support with risk management advice and services.
Join our Client Management – Commercial Risk Apprenticeship programme as a valued and permanent employee from day one. Working alongside your colleagues, you will support clients in managing their insurance programmes, including both placement and risk identification. You will have the unique responsibility of supporting well-known brand names, ensuring they have the insurance cover they need, which could include a wide range of insurance from property to cyber.
Your role as a Client Management – Commercial Risk Apprentice
As an apprentice, you will work as a Business Support Specialist, playing a key part in supporting clients and helping the team manage expectations and deliver on time.
You will be supported by colleagues, some of whom have experience with the Aon apprenticeship programme, providing coaching from their experience in the insurance market.
Prepare to make an immediate impact, as our structured training programme will build your knowledge of Aon and commercial insurance, as well as help you achieve industry-recognized professional qualifications.
What the day will look like
- You will be part of a team from day one, supporting the delivery of client-facing activities
- Assisting in the day-to-day running of client risk and insurance programmes
- Carrying out administrative tasks contributing to the broking process
- Building strong working relationships with Insurers
- Opportunities to support our attendance at Industry Networking Events
Your Development
As an Aon Apprentice, you will be enrolled in our development programme, which includes:
- Business learning – on-the-job learning and experiences to develop your knowledge and understanding of the team and solution line you have joined
- Centralised learning – UK apprentices complete an Aon Induction, monthly webinars, business skills training, and workshops to help you develop your knowledge of Aon, build your confidence, and your network across our business
- Professional Qualifications – we’ll fully support your study towards your level 4 Insurance Apprenticeship and Certificate in Insurance (Chartered Insurance Institute) professional qualification. You’ll receive paid study leave and a range of study and tuition materials.

Your career beyond your Apprenticeship
Once you’ve completed the formal apprenticeship programme, you’ll continue to receive support at Aon. We expect you to be promotion-ready within 18 to 24 months, continuing to grow your career in the insurance industry. You will also be able to continue your studies for the CII qualifications through to Chartered status.

Entry Requirements:
- 112 UCAS points from your top 3 A Levels (or equivalent) or 280 UCAS points for exams sat prior to 2017 (excluding General Studies) i.e. BBC

Locations: London, Redhill, Manchester
We recognize the value of being in the office environment from the beginning of your programme. As a new apprentice, you will spend the first 6 months in the office to support your learning, development, and progression. After this training period, you will have the opportunity to work more flexibly, spending at least 4 days face-to-face in the Aon office or with clients.
