What the day will look like

  • Leading a team of Exposure Management Analyst providing Nat Cat and Blast Zone exposure information across a +$500m portfolio.
  • Encompasses all classes of 1st party business with a particular emphasis on Terrorism and Nth American Property and is designed to drive Exposure Management performance and assist in business strategy for Aon Client Treaty and Alpha products.
  • Leading a four strong team, plus outsourcing support, in providing utilisation levels per peril, geography and Class of Business.
  • Managing the team and providing Aggregate Exposure assessments and reports in accordance with delegated authorities & management information requirements.
  • Be the primary contact for the business regarding modelled exposures and develop excellent working relations with carriers and third-party vendors.

The main products;

    • Aon Client Treaty (ACT) is Aon’s flagship broking solution, offering dedicated Lloyd’s capacity of 20% co-insurance capacity on core business lines placed with material maximum dollar limits across any one class of business, exclusive to Aon clients. Developed with significant and ongoing investment from Aon, ACT continues to draw on analysis and modelling of 205 countries and territories, delivering uniquely powerful insights into risk.
    • Alpha Terrorism Alpha is Aon’s Innovative placement vehicle that offers pre-placed capacity to Aon clients, with recognized leaders within the terrorism market. The facility is composed of two sets of lead Lloyd’s carriers across a North America and International panel who compete to lead each risk, with a full Lloyd’s panel automatically providing follow capacity. Aon Underwriting Managers (AUM) are empowered to bind and issue the documentation on behalf of Alpha markets and more pertinently for this role manage the Terrorism, War and SRCC exposure.
    • Manage the team of Aggregation Analysts, including outsourcing service providers in executing their pre-bind exposure assessment, post-bind reporting and portfolio analysis.
    • Maintenance of exposure databases ensuring completeness and accuracy of exposure information.
    • Develop unique insights for assessing and reporting aggregate exposures
    • Lead in the development of appropriate documentation of risk management and modelling policies, tolerances and authorities & service level agreements with third party vendors.
    • Develop AUM’s ability to provide Lloyd’s RDS models to supporting syndicates
    • Provide technical oversight and training to members of the team
    • Support and comply with the internal data-quality audit process.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key supporting insurers and distribution partners
    • Oversee the consistent and accurate coding of data to enable the most accurate aggregate reporting to be achieved.
    • To act fully in compliance with FSA rules and guidelines and with Aon Policy.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Level of education – higher education and relevant professional qualifications
  • A high level of technical knowledge and understanding relating to the assessment of Nat Cat and Blast Zone exposures for all relevant classes of business.
  • High level of knowledge and experience of AIR
  • Experience in the field of Aggregate Exposure management
  • Level of understanding in offshore platform / complex accumulation
  • Ability to prioritise workload and communicate as appropriate
  • A track record of successful team management
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to make complex topics simple
  • Focus on service provision
  • Effective communicator, both written and oral at senior level
  • Attention to detail and achieving high professional standard
