We're hiring a Mining Broker to join the Mining Industry Property team, which is part of the wider Property practice within our Global Broking Centre. In this role you will be responsible for marketing and negotiating business specific to the Mining industry within the Lloyd's and Company Markets on a day‐to‐day basis.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Account Leader in ensuring the team works as a cohesive unit meeting all service requirements agreed with Aon offices and insurers.
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts including renewals and new business from initial enquiry through to handing over the placing slip to the processing/documentation team.
  • Execute placement strategy for each account.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Broker to provide full risk reviews and prepare underwriting presentations.
  • Help manage the relationship between the insured/network and the GBC; this may involve travel and hosting clients in London.
  • Oversee the full file, use electronic placing platforms, ensure KPIs are met and data capture is completed.
  • Contribute to the growth of the portfolio and the Property go‐to‐market strategy.
  • Understand structured portfolio solutions (SPS) and work proactively with Senior Brokers and regional GBC Property teams.
  • Provide technical support and advice to other Aon offices as a referral point for mining‐specific queries; lead tenders where necessary.
  • Ensure AV strategy is maximised across the mining portfolio, stay abreast of market movements and appetite.
  • Execute projects, tasks, and other duties as specified by the Team Leader or Senior Management.

Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret and use data effectively.
  • Technical insurance knowledge across Global Property markets – especially industrial risks.
  • Experience managing client relationships.
  • Strong problem‐solving, numeracy, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Sound understanding of compliance and FCA regulation.
