We are seeking to employ a Compliance Analyst to join our Bermuda-based risk and compliance team, supporting Aon Bermuda entities and clients.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and energetic compliance, risk, or insurance professional with a strong track record in delivering risk and compliance solutions.
They will be organized, commercially minded and confident in critically considering risk and compliance regulatory frameworks, policies and strategies, and with designing and implementing Governance, Risk & Compliance (“GRC”) frameworks.
The successful candidate will assist the SVP – Head of Compliance on leading projects that drive regulatory compliance, revenue growth and operational efficiency.

- What the day will look like
- Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Develop, implement and maintain GRC frameworks for Aon Bermuda entities and (re)insurance clients (including Commercial, ILS and captive structures).
- Support start‑up and existing clients in reviewing and enhancing their proposed or existing GRC frameworks, policies and procedures as part of business plan submissions and ongoing operations.
- Perform compliance assurance work, including periodic AML file reviews, CDD/KYC updates and risk assessments.
- Design, implement and perform testing and monitoring of key compliance controls, ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements and Aon Group standards.
- Act as subject matter expert (or key user) for relevant GRC and compliance technology platforms (e. g., GRC systems, ACD, screening and monitoring tools such as Lexis Nexis Bridger), including management of alerts and end‑user training.
- Relationship Management
- Act as key compliance contact for assigned Aon Bermuda entity(ies) and client relationships.
- Attend and actively participate in client and internal Board and/or Committee meetings, presenting on risk and compliance matters as required.
- Collaborate with the SVP – Head of Compliance and the Commercial, ILS, Captive and Executive Leadership teams to enhance Aon’s Governance, Risk & Compliance service offerings and deliver Aon United solutions.
- Proactively raise the profile of Aon Bermuda’s risk and compliance capabilities, including participation in local and international conferences, industry forums and other external engagements.
- Policies, Training & Systems
- Assist in the preparation, review and oversight of key compliance policies and procedures, including governance manuals, risk management frameworks, economic sanctions, financial crime, data privacy, and broader compliance policies.
- Assist with the drafting, updating and implementation of policies and procedures for Aon entities and clients.
- Help develop staff training on key regulatory compliance subject matters (e. g., AML/ATF, sanctions, code of conduct, data privacy, operational risk, cyber).
- Support operational compliance activities such as business continuity reviews, financial crime risk assessments, annual regulatory reporting and various ad‑hoc compliance or risk initiatives.
- Regulatory Compliance & Liaison
- Monitor and assess the impact of new or amended legislation, regulatory guidance and Group policies, recommending and implementing appropriate actions.
- Coordinate and support regulatory inspections and internal/external audits, including remediation of findings in line with agreed timelines.
- Client & Internal Reporting
- Execute day‑to‑day risk and compliance deliverables for a portfolio of (re)insurance and captive clients, including Commercial and ILS portfolios.
- Support the preparation and completion of regulatory filings and annual returns, including corporate governance, risk and related sections of BSCR, CISSA, FCR and similar filings.
- Prepare, review and present risk and compliance reports, management information and Board/Committee materials (e. g., agendas, packs, minutes, presentations) for Aon entities and client entities.
- Report E&O/D&O issues and internal incidents as required and support follow‑up actions.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- A university degree and/or an internationally recognized qualification in compliance, risk, accounting, insurance, or legal discipline.
- A recognized compliance, AML or other professional regulatory certification (e. g., CAMS or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ recent and relevant experience in AML/ATF compliance with a Bermuda RFI is required; experience within the (re)insurance, captive, insurance management, or life insurance industry is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and monitoring Governance, Risk & Compliance frameworks for insurance or (re)insurance companies.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Bermuda regulatory environment (or a similar jurisdiction), particularly Insurance, AML/ATF, Financial Crime, Corporate Governance and Codes of Conduct.
- Strong analytical and research skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation and advocacy skills and the ability to explain complex regulatory issues clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, regulators and industry partners.
- Solid project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple deadlines and deliver high‑quality outputs in a fast‑paced environment; comfortable working under pressure and occasionally outside regular business hours when required.
- High level of digital literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with compliance and GRC platforms.
