Overview

Investment Consulting – Graduate Programme

Start Date: 2nd September 2026 | Application closing date: 5th December 2025. We reserve the right to close earlier if we receive the quantity, quality & diversity of applications.

Better Decisions Begin with You. Aon shapes decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. When you join us, you\\\’ll become empowered to make the same impact, as you explore ways of becoming a more relevant, connected and valued professional.

We\\\’re hiring! Join Aon\\\’s Investment Consulting graduate programme and become a valued member of our elite team of experts. Our consultants have been advising employers and governments on their pension schemes and other wealth — totalling around $4 trillion — for over 60 years. Our graduates join specialist teams focused on consulting with clients on everything from setting investment strategies and selecting investment managers, to advising on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues or working with pension scheme trustees to implement long-term strategies efficiently and target better outcomes.

Your role

Join us as an Investment Consulting Graduate in either the Defined Benefit (DB) Client Group or the Defined Contribution (DC) Client Group, helping to advise clients on investment strategies, selection of investment managers, corporate transactions, and transfers.

What the day will look like

  • You\\\’ll be a key member of our dedicated teams, providing investment consulting services and advice covering markets and strategic considerations, such as managing assets (DB and DC) and liabilities (DB only). You\\\’ll gain early experience with a wide range of investments and adapt them to economic conditions and outlooks.
  • DB Client Group: learn how and why pension scheme liabilities change due to economic assumptions (inflation, interest rates) and how market movements affect invested assets. DC Client Group: learn about DC pension vehicles, regulatory rules, and main asset classes and investment theory for DC schemes.
  • We offer a supportive, inclusive environment designed for you to learn and grow. You\\\’ll develop new skills and help shape the future of the industry.
  • Work with diverse mentors and explore niches that align with your strengths.
  • Enjoy a structured pathway and opportunities to network with colleagues who can advance your development.

What we are looking for

  • Motivation and ambition to pursue a career in Investment Consulting
  • Strong consulting skills with a client-focused outlook
  • Passion and curiosity; eagerness to learn and understand our work
  • Commercial awareness to provide clear, confident client support

Your Development

As a graduate, you will be enrolled on our Launch Programme, built around three core elements:

  1. Business learning: on-the-job experiences to develop knowledge of your team and solution line.
  2. Centralised learning: induction, monthly webinars, business skills training, and workshops to build knowledge, confidence, and networks.
  3. Professional Qualifications: support towards IMC, CFA, or IFoA qualifications; paid study leave and study materials.

Qualifications information links: IMC – https://www.cfauk.org/study/imc#gsc.tab=0 | CFA – https://www.cfainstitute.org/en/programs/cfa | IFoA – https://actuaries.org.uk/

Your career beyond the Graduate programme

After completing the formal programme, you\\\’ll continue to receive support for actuarial or CFA qualifications, with regular performance feedback and opportunities for promotion.

Next Steps

Entry Requirements: On track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in any subject. Right to work: permanent contracts from day one; UK work eligibility without visa sponsorship now or in the future; or pre-settled/settled status from the EU Settlement Scheme. Locations: Bristol, London. First 6 months in office, then flexible work with 3–4 days in the office or with clients.
