Aon is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Yacht Broker to join our London team and play a leading role in the development of our global yacht portfolio.
As a Senior Yacht Broker, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of high-value yacht and superyacht accounts, delivering exceptional service to clients, prospects and the Aon network.
You will drive placement strategy, build and maintain strong market relationships, and act as a senior point of technical expertise and mentorship within the team.

What the day will look like
Senior Yacht Broker - Key Responsibilities
- Client & Portfolio Management
- Manage and develop your own portfolio of yacht and superyacht clients, including private owners, family offices, management companies and corporate entities.
- Lead the design and execution of placement strategies for each account, ensuring optimal coverage, pricing and structure across hull and machinery, P&I, liability and ancillary yacht covers.
- Act as a trusted adviser to clients, providing clear technical guidance on wordings, coverage comparisons, risk improvements and claims considerations.
- Ensure the efficient day-to-day running of each account file, including use of electronic placing platforms, accurate data capture and adherence to agreed client service plans and KPIs.
- Market & Placement
- Build, maintain and leverage strong relationships with key yacht and marine insurers, underwriters and facility leaders in the London and international markets.
- Lead or support complex placements, renewals and mid-term changes, negotiating terms and conditions that meet client needs and Aon quality standards.
- Contribute to the development and utilisation of Aon’s yacht facilities and structured portfolio solutions, ensuring these are maximised where appropriate.
- Business Development & Growth
- Identify and convert new business opportunities within the yacht and superyacht segment, working closely with the wider Aon network.
- Develop and maintain a visible pipeline of prospects and opportunities, with regular reporting and monitoring against annual growth targets.
- Support marketing and profiling initiatives for the yacht practice, including client events, thought leadership and campaigns in key yacht hubs and territories.
- Leadership, Coaching & Collaboration
- Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to more junior brokers within the yacht team, supporting their technical development and performance.
- Act as a senior point of escalation for complex client or placement issues, working collaboratively with colleagues across broking, account management and claims.
- Contribute to team planning, workflow co-ordination and continuous improvement of processes and tools, helping to ensure operational efficiency and consistent high-quality service delivery.
- Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure that all broking activity is conducted in line with Aon’s policies, procedures and applicable legal and regulatory requirements (including FCA regulations).
- Maintain accurate and timely records, documentation and data entry for all accounts, supporting robust governance, MI and audit requirements.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Proven experience in yacht, superyacht or marine insurance broking (or underwriting), with strong, established relationships in the yacht insurance market.
- Deep technical understanding of yacht insurance products (e. g. hull and machinery, P&I, liability covers and associated wordings).
- Strong knowledge of the London insurance market, including placement processes, electronic platforms and key yacht insurers.
- Demonstrable track record in managing and growing a portfolio of complex or high-value accounts.
- Proven ability to build and maintain senior-level client and market relationships, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong appreciation of compliance and FCA regulatory requirements, and the ability to embed these in day-to-day broking activity.
- Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
