Aon Reinsurance Solutions (UK) is currently recruiting for an MGA broker to join the MGA Segment team in London. This role will work with the senior brokers/Account Executives, driving broking and growth strategy, junior brokers, responsible for providing broking execution and services to our clients at a tactical level, and account managers.
They will co-ordinate and contribute to the marketing and/or negotiation of delegated authorities and associated MGA transactions, within both the Lloyd’s and Company Market in accordance with market strategy. This role comes to the market at an exciting time, as the team continue to achieve and set substantial targets. Further, Aon Reinsurance UK have an increased focus on the MGA segment.
About the Role
As a broker, some of your key responsibilities will involve:
- Working on Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) placements, including traditional Binding Authorities and Alternative Distribution Transactions;
- Priority focus on Casualty binding authorities, to continue growth with this product;
- Providing assistance to MGA clients and Aon colleagues on DUA placement development, available coverage and capacity, likely pricing, actuarial, potential coverage improvements and market progress;
- Engaging with Aon Analytics to deliver analysis required to develop market presentations and broking strategy;
- Understanding and applying the full range of Aon United capabilities for the benefit of MGA/DUA and insurance clients;
- Providing crucial support to help deliver MGA Team revenues;
- Being forward thinking to help the team provide consistent results to clients;
- Providing specialist advice to clients and colleagues;
- Being a great teammate – ability to collaborate across the MGA and product segments of Aon Reinsurance Solutions UK and offer mentorship;
- Building strategic relationships and help deliver long term strategy for clients;
- Being responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.
About you
As a broker your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- Essential:
- Strong technical understanding of Casualty products;
- Evidence of operating as a team player;
- Solid understanding and experience of the mechanics of delegated underwriting;
- Willingness to learn and innovate;
- The ability to build relationships across Aon, markets and clients;
- Experience of client engagement;
- Strong communication skills;
- Minimum of 5 years broking/underwriting experience;
- Good competence with MS applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint).
- Desirable:
- Market experience of designing and negotiating Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) placement;
- Professional qualifications (DipCII/ACII);
- Knowledge of, and positive relationships with, relevant DUA stakeholders;
- Think strategically within framework of the MGA Segment team and Aon Reinsurance UK;
- Good understanding of analytics and the ability to interpret data.
