What the day will look like
You will partner closely with HR and business stakeholders, providing clear, practical advice across a wide range of UK employment law matters. Your work will span the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and contracts through to complex employee relations issues, restructures and exits.
You will advise on areas including redundancy, TUPE, disciplinary and grievance matters, restrictive covenants and Employment Tribunal claims, working with external counsel where needed. You will also support policy development, deliver training, and help embed best practice across the business.
Alongside your UK focus, you may also gain exposure to wider EMEA matters, working as part of a well‑connected global legal function.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- You will be a qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales (or equivalent) with at least 4 years’ PQE in employment law, gained in private practice or in‑house.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law with experience advising on complex employee relations matters.
- Experience supporting redundancy programmes, TUPE and organisational change.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and provide practical, commercially focused advice.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while being part of a collaborative team.
- Experience of the insurance, reinsurance, retirement or investment sectors is helpful but not essential.
