Do you want to work for a specialist practice that provides risk solutions to businesses across a large number of sectors within the UK? Does establishing contacts and developing client relationships at the highest level appeal to you? If so, we would love to hear from you in connection with this brand-new, hybrid, BDM opportunity which provides the flexibility to work both virtually and from any of our UK offices.

Aon is in the business of better decisions. At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like:

  • Understand the prospect's business and identify their needs, positioning Aon as the logical alternative through strong sector knowledge, benchmarking (including GRIP), and professional articulation of Aon's risk solutions.
  • Develop tailored revenue proposals using insights from similar clients and the full range of Aon services to ensure profitable, value-adding propositions.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Broking, and international Aon offices to ensure seamless delivery against the agreed proposition.
  • Shape and contribute to client service propositions, taking a leading role where required in customisation, quality control, and presentation materials.
  • Work closely with Claims colleagues to build a strong, differentiated Claims proposition for each new client.
  • Build strong internal relationships — particularly across Client Management, Client Services, and specialist teams — to select the right experts for each prospect pitch.
  • Ensure full compliance with Aon Business Rules, FCA regulations, and all statutory requirements.

What Makes This Role Different:

National clients typically require bespoke insurance programmes and associated risk management and risk transfer services. Besides being the insurance broker, the National team provides clients with a claims service and advice on risk management across most industries, with specialisms in real estate, public sector, food and drink, and retail and wholesale. Typically, clients will be either a national or a multinational company, with a presence in no more than 10 overseas territories; the CEO and CFOs will be looking for a local relationship with their broker, who can provide a tailored approach.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • Sales and Insurance experience are essential - preferably in new business.
  • Professional style - ability to impact and impress in 1:1 prospect meetings.
  • General commercial awareness.
  • Results focused.
  • IT literate with experience using databases.
