Do you have the expertise to manage the Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance needs of a portfolio of construction‑sector clients? Can you help us expand into PI offerings for the design and construct market or other professional services sectors, while supporting our continued work with consulting engineers and architects? Are you looking to build your career with a leading risk advisor and insurance broker? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
This role is based initially in our Liverpool office, with the flexibility to work virtually and from our Manchester location. As a Client Services Director, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients—identifying their risk requirements and leveraging Griffiths & Armour’s and Aon’s extensive capabilities to design and deliver tailored insurance and risk management solutions.
We are looking for someone who can serve as the senior point of contact for our PI clients, partnering closely with a team of insurance brokers. You will also become a key representative for Griffiths & Armour and the wider Aon business when responding to new PI enquiries and pursuing new business opportunities within these markets. Experience in establishing and managing facilities is highly desirable.
At Griffiths & Armour, we are known for our excellence in arranging PI insurance for our construction sector clients. We provide extensive and detailed risk management support and value added products in addition to market leading PI insurance solutions. With deep industry knowledge, we understand the evolving challenges our clients face and offer a high level of expertise in managing and mitigating risks.
What the day will look like:
- Lead on all incoming PI opportunities within the design and construct space, acting as the central point of contact.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities in the PI market, thinking holistically about how G&A and Aon services can add value.
- Understand each client’s unique needs and guide the client service team to deliver consistently excellent outcomes.
- Ensure best‑in‑class delivery through strong processes, regular client reviews, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Support the team in achieving annual revenue targets, often within tight timeframes.
- Contribute to team development, supporting colleagues and helping shape a positive, collaborative working culture that reflects our values: client focus, enthusiasm, innovation, friendliness, deep expertise and approachability.
- Line management responsibilities can be included if desired, though not required.
This is a rare chance to join Griffiths & Armour at a senior level within a team known for nurturing talent. Working with a group of highly skilled professionals, you will help us expand beyond our established engineering and architectural markets into a wider range of professional services sectors. Our integration with Aon brings additional resources and opportunities that you will be encouraged to utilise as you grow and diversify our client base.
Skills and experience that will lead to success:
- Strong technical expertise in Professional Indemnity insurance
- A thoughtful, adaptable, and approachable manner with clients
- Knowledge of the construction sector, particularly design and construct
- Experience in a commercial insurance brokerage
- Understanding of insurance market dynamics
- Commercial awareness
- Excellent negotiation, communication and listening skills
- Strong sales capability
- ACII (or equivalent) preferred
In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage an inclusive workforce. Plus, our agile environment allows you to manage your wellbeing and work/life balance, ensuring you can be your best self at Aon. Furthermore, all colleagues enjoy two “Global Wellbeing Days” each year, encouraging you to take time to focus on yourself. We offer a variety of working style solutions for our colleagues as well.
