What the day will look like:
- Lead a team of data analysts to provide market-leading insights into the performance of the multi-class underwriting portfolio and provide analytics solutions to support all aspects of MGA operations.
- Liase with all areas of the business to understand their data problems and prioritise the Insights team workload appropriately and fairly.
- Specialise in bringing data to life through impactful visuals, with an ability in data storytelling to conduct a deep dive into specific questions.
- Own the ongoing support, maintenance, and deployment of a comprehensive suite of over 40 Power BI dashboards covering all functions across the MGA from Claims, UW, Operations, Systems, Governance and Product Development.
- Provide leadership direction on the data strategy for the business unit, ensuring operational resilience and optimising data pipelines to reduce manual effort and key-man dependencies.
- Liaising with insurer carrier partners to deliver data and analytics and manage relationships to ensure a top-level MI service in collaboration with our Actuarial team.
- Create strong relationships with our in-house Data Engineering Team (UK D&A) to adopt their tooling and leverage their skillsets to meet business needs.
- Work closely with Actuarial and Exposure Management teams to deliver advanced portfolio insights.
- Engage in critical system and operational change projects to ensure data modelling and insights capabilities is fit for purpose to support the initiatives.
- Participate in the facility planning process for new and renewing facilities, ensuring the MI offering meets requirements to help differentiate Aon.
- Take responsibility for horizon scanning for new technologies, capabilities and advancements in analytics which could help the business (AI, Machine Learning and Digital Transformation) and present ideas where appropriate.
- Assess opportunities to leverage the capabilities of the Power Platform suite to create operational improvements and automate processes where possible.
Skills and experience that will lead to success:
- Strong track record in leading teams to deliver data and analytics and reporting capabilities.
- Ability to convert complex insurance business requirements into technical specifications.
- Sound knowledge of the Insurance Industry across multiple products with a good understanding of the Lloyd's market.
- Strong interpersonal skills - able to communicate well across organisation levels and foster positive, trusted relationships with Executive Management.
- Strong team player and proven track record of team-building and management ability with experience in personal development and mentoring staff.
- Deep Power BI knowledge of the following areas: Scalability, Cloud Infrastructure, DAX, M-Code.
- Knowledge of SQL and Python desirable.
- Experience with Machine Learning principles to identify use cases which address business problems and engage with other technical teams to implement solutions.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities, delegate and communicate effectively to manage time and expectations.
- Be a problem solver able to think innovatively and creatively when tackling business issues.
