Aon is currently recruiting a Head of US to join the Counter Terrorism team, which forms part of the wider Crisis Management practice within our Global Broking Centre.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for leading Aon’s US Counter Terrorism and Active Assailant proposition, managing the US network relationship, developing large US client opportunities, leading the US-focused team, and driving sustainable growth across the North American Terrorism, Political Violence and Active Assailant portfolio.

- What the day will look like
- Lead Aon’s US Counter Terrorism and Active Assailant strategy.
- Manage the US network, major US client relationships and key growth opportunities.
- Own and grow the US AA book across retail, wholesale and network channels.
- Lead, coach and develop the US-focused team.
- Build strong relationships with Aon’s US offices, producers and client teams.
- Travel to the US to support clients, network engagement and growth initiatives.
- Oversee the Active Assailant facility, including performance, market positioning and carrier engagement.
- Manage London market and carrier relationships to support client outcomes and portfolio profitability.
- Work in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework and all relevant compliance policies.

This role is differentiated by its strategic focus on North America, including leadership of the US network, major US client relationships, the US-focused team and the continued growth of Aon’s AA book.
The successful candidate will play a central role in strengthening Aon’s position as a leading adviser in the US Terrorism and Active Assailant market, working closely with colleagues across Aon’s Global Broking Centre and the wider Aon network.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Strong Terrorism, Political Violence and/or Active Assailant insurance experience, ideally with a North American focus.
- Proven ability to manage senior client relationships and grow complex US and multinational portfolios.
- Experience leading, developing and motivating broking or client-facing teams.
- Good understanding of the US network, US client needs and London market solutions.
- Established carrier and underwriter relationships, with strong negotiation skills.
- Confident communicator with strong presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially focused, with a track record of building pipeline and delivering growth.
- Willingness to travel to the United States to support clients, network engagement and growth.
