We are recruiting an experienced Insurance Lawyer for the newly created Head of Property, Casualty and Crisis Management Coverage role. This hybrid position is based in our London office with flexibility to work remotely for part of the week; you must be in the office at least 50% of the time.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will develop a strategic plan for PCCM, build and lead a team, and deliver key initiatives in support of the PCCM coverage team.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Significant experience as an insurance lawyer, particularly in property and casualty insurance.
  • Proven ability to draft and interpret insurance and reinsurance policy terms and conditions.
  • Experience designing insurance products and drafting clear policy language.
  • Knowledge of the legal and regulatory context for global insurance programmes and reinsurance structuring.
  • Track record in delivering training on key insurance policy coverage issues.
  • Exposure to current lines of business issues, such as business interruption cover.
  • People‑management experience – responsible for at least one team member.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing specialist input on terms of insurance cover and advising clients and network offices.
  • Negotiating with underwriters on individual placements.
  • Drafting and negotiating terms of cover under Aon facilities.
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of new insurance products.
  • Providing training to Broking teams on coverage issues.
  • Developing Aon’s stance on market developments and interacting with market bodies such as Lloyd’s and the LMA.
  • Coordinating with coverage specialists across the Aon network to ensure a unified approach.
  • Cooperating with the Claims team on significant coverage issues arising in active claims.
  • Remaining up to date with all legal and regulatory developments impacting insurance coverage.
