Aon (Bermuda) Ltd. is seeking to employ an Assistant Vice President for a diverse team of dedicated professionals in our Transaction Solutions (“TS”) group. The underlying business comprises all TS verticals (R&W, Tax, and Legal Position) and is home to all Aon North American innovations. The local team consists of eight TS professionals with backgrounds that include corporate attorneys and CPAs. The selected candidate will report into the Aon TS Chief Broking Officer in addition to the day-to-day leader for the Aon Bermuda TS team.

What the day will look like:

  • Lead the Aon Bermuda TS tax vertical with responsibility for continued best in class broking services to a global client base;
  • Negotiate tax and complex tax adjacent esoteric insurance placements across a diverse range of geographies, industries, deal sizes and legal landscapes;
  • Consistent underlying focus on TS business development and the evolution of proprietary Aon risk transfer mechanisms;
  • Role model effectively as a senior member within a team environment whereby the underlying culture is necessarily collaborative and innovative;
  • Drive collaboration and client focused execution with Aon offices on a global basis;
  • Market/carrier facing (and Aon/internal facing) duties in a wholesale capacity.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • A minimum of eight years of progressive tax advisory experience within a leading professional services environment (preference for Big4) with insurance, reinsurance and investment exposure;
  • Ability to deliver best-in-class tax advisory and transaction support services to multinational clients;
  • Multi-year US tax analysis and advice experience with a corporate and private equity client base;
  • Ability to analyze complex tax issues, communicate practical solutions and provide commercially focused advice to clients;
  • IRS enrolled agent CPA qualified;
  • Multi-year experience in tax investment asset management, partnership taxation and investment management industry;
  • Ability to lead tax advisory engagements for international insurance clients including industry specific tax arrangements and cross-border concerns;
  • Foundational knowledge of Investment Tax Credits, Product Tax Credits and related insurance structuring;
  • Foundational knowledge of insurer TS market and TS products;
  • Experience with people leadership and management;
  • Strategic and/or innovative in approach and execution.
